Baptist Medical Center North Opens Newly Expanded Emergency Department

Meadows & Ohly serves as the program manager for the newly completed Baptist Medical Center North Emergency Department expansion which is a 5,000 SF addition including Baptist Emergency Services (Adult); Baptist/Wolfson Children's Emergency Center:  special waiting area for children, child-specific medical equipment, Pediatric-safe imaging, Specially trained, 100% dedicated pediatric team; Helipad and air ambulance service. 

M&O's management of the design and construction process resulted in a successful project that was under budget and opened 30 days ahead of schedule.

Baptist Health Opens 3rd MOB on growing Jacksonville campus


Meadows & Ohly is proud to announce the opening of “MOB 3” on the growing Baptist South campus in Jacksonville. M&O serves as the strategic advisor and program manager for the newly completed 100,000 SF facility. The full-service campus serves the rapidly growing communities of Duval and St. Johns counties. M&O's management of the design standards and contractor selection process resulted in construction costs significantly below the regional average.

Chad Boone earns CHC credentials


Meadows & Ohly is proud to announce that Chad Boone, Portfolio Manager, has earned his Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) credential from the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE), a personal membership group of the American Hospital Association (AHA).

Chad Joined Meadows & Ohly, LLC in 2017 as Portfolio Manager and opened the Jacksonville Regional Office. Chad serves Meadows & Ohly clients through areas of development, asset management, and business development. His core expertise are in the delivery facets of our business including: predevelopment, design, and construction. Chad has actively participated in the development of construction projects valued in excess of $150 million. These projects include free standing emergency departments, acute care hospital expansions, diagnostic imaging, surgery centers, and an array of tenant improvements.  

The entire Meadows & Ohly construction team is in the process of attaining this important certification as we constantly work to deliver Better Healthcare through Compelling Real Estate Solutions.

Meadows & Ohly Announces Leadership Changes

ATLANTA, GA - On January 1, 2019, a planned leadership transition was implemented to position the firm to continue its long history of innovative service to the healthcare real estate marketplace.

Tom Rhodes, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer since 2012, passed the CEO role to John Carter. Mr. Rhodes has been with the firm for 32 years and was responsible for setting the strategic direction of the organization as M&O has grown into a perennial top 5 healthcare real estate development firm in the U.S. He will retain the role of Chairman and focus on the strategic advisory and investment activities of the firm. Mr. Carter joined M&O in 1997 and was named Chief Operating Officer in 2015.  John has been instrumental in leading the growth of the M&O management and leasing platform into one of the premier management organizations in the healthcare real estate industry. He will set the firm’s strategic agenda and focus on growing the M&O real estate portfolio.

Van Fletcher, Chief Financial Officer, will retire after 24 years with the firm. Throughout his career with M&O, Mr. Fletcher has provided leadership over the firm’s development, financing and acquisition activities. Jay Bowling has been named as the new M&O CFO. Mr. Bowling, a CPA, joined the firm in 2003, led the organization’s expansion into the Charlotte and Jacksonville markets and has been active in business development, acquisitions, project development and strategic advisory work for a variety of health systems. Jay will continue his strategic work with clients in addition to his CFO responsibilities.

Jeff Brown, who joined the firm as a Partner in January 2018 to lead M&O’s Strategic Advisory Practice and Market Development activities, has been named Chief Strategy Officer.  Mr. Brown will lead the firm’s efforts to expand into new markets, enhance its advisory capabilities and support the strategic growth and innovation platform.

Tift Regional Health System Musculoskeletal Services Building opens in Tifton, GA


Meadows & Ohly is proud to announce the completion of the Tift Regional Musculoskeletal Services Building, which is an 80,000 SF outpatient services facility with a singular medical focus - musculoskeletal health. The building houses various specialities, including sports medicine, arthritis and osteoporosis center, neurology, pain management, chiropractic services and outpatient therapy services. The new space will provide a consolidated, multi-disciplinary approach to musculoskeletal medicine while freeing up needed office space in various other Tift locations. 

M&O served as a strategic advisor and program manager for the project. M&O's management of the design standards and contractor selection process resulted in construction costs significantly below the regional average.

Meadows & Ohly among winners at annual CREW Impact Awards


Atlanta, GA - Meadows & Ohly was among the winners of the Best Interiors – Healthcare award at the 2018 CREW Atlanta Impact Awards ceremony. Meadows & Ohly, Piedmont Healthcare, Leapley Construction and Custom Sign Factory were nominated by architecture firm Warner Summers for their combined contributions. Warner Summers was also included as a recipient of the award. The challenging buildout involved renovating a sizable former retail space in downtown Atlanta for one of Piedmont Healthcare's primary care practices.

Alex Vess (construction program manager) and Sarah Chaplin (property manager), played a major role in the success of the project which inevitably led to the recognition of Meadows & Ohly by Warner Summers and the CREW Atlanta awards committee.

Modern Healthcare released the results of their annual "Construction & Design" survey for 2018. Meadows & Ohly is honored to be ranked in the Top 5 of the "Top Development Companies" category for the U.S.

In addition, Healthcare Real Estate Insights (HREI) released their annual list of the largest outpatient healthcare real estate developers in the U.S. Meadows & Ohly ranked in the top 10 of the "Projects Started and Completed" category for 2018.

Meadows & Ohly consistently delivers projects on-time and at 15-18% lower construction costs than the regional average.

Jeff is a seasoned healthcare operations and strategic advisor that has spent the last twenty-five (25) years working with health systems, hospitals and physician practice organizations.  Jeff complements the leadership team at Meadows & Ohly with his deep advisory capabilities and experience in providing solutions that drive efficiency, improve performance and create strategies that help healthcare organizations achieve results.

He began his advisory work as a Consultant with Arthur Andersen.  He launched his healthcare career working in hospitals including WellStar Cobb Hospital in Austell, GA and Baptist Health System in Jacksonville, FL.

Jeff earned his Master of Business and Master of Health Administration degrees from Georgia State University and his undergraduate degree from Georgia Southern University. He is active in numerous healthcare care professional organizations and associations, including HFMA, ACHE, GHA, VHHA, NCHA, FHA, and has presented and been published on numerous occasions related to health care market issues, opportunities and trends.
