AdventHealth, a leading health system in Central Florida, faced growing pressure to expand its outpatient capabilities and strengthen its position in a competitive market, particularly in orthopedics, neurology, and surgery offerings. Although well-positioned, its main campus lacked the infrastructure to support a fully integrated outpatient orthopedic and neurosciences institute. With a clear opportunity to lead in a high-growth sector, AdventHealth set an ambitious goal: create a destination facility that would attract top-tier physician partners, align key specialties under one roof, and meet rising patient demand with greater access and efficiency.
Aligning Development with Clinical Vision
Meadows & Ohly supported AdventHealth with a deeply integrated approach across advisory, delivery, and management. Our Strategic Advisory team led market assessments to validate patient demand and guide the facility’s positioning. From there, our Program Management and Development teams oversaw execution. By engaging and working closely with market-leading physician groups early in the process, their clinical insights directly shaped the building’s design, functionality, and patient flow. Their deep involvement throughout the development led to a shared vision aligned on delivering an exceptional patient experience.
Innovation Tower reflects this collaboration and intent. The 12-story facility brings orthopedics, neurosurgery, imaging, rehabilitation, and research together in one location, fostering clinical collaboration and delivering measurable benefits for patients. Despite pandemic-era volatility, the project was delivered on time and on budget in August 2022. Our Property Management team was engaged eight months ahead of completion to ensure a smooth transition, implementing building processes before the first patient arrived. The project’s success was clear: Innovation Tower reached 96% occupancy within five months and now anchors AdventHealth’s 172-acre Health Village campus, setting a new benchmark for patient-centered care in Central Florida.
